PICKIN' ON NASHVILLE - THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS
This debut CD released in 1989 became the foundation for the country music
revival of the 90's. "Pickin' On Nashville" garnered three CMA awards in 1990,
Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, and the band won Vocal Group of the
Year. The CD went on to achieve triple platinum status and has become a country
classic album. The title of the album was a sort of double tongue-in-cheek
statement. Once Chet Atkins put out an album of instrumental versions of Beatles
songs which was titled "Pickin' On The Beatles". So the band took that idea and
used it to sort of 'good-naturedly' poke fun at the faltering country music
star-maker machinery.

ELECTRIC BARNYARD - THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS
The second CD release by the renegades of country music pushed the boundaries of
the country genre even further than the first CD. Though it has sold somewhere
around one million copies it was considered way too rock oriented for the
country music radio industry to swallow. Three videos were released but radio
did not support this project in any way. Electric Barnyard is a fitting title to
describe the seamless country/blues/rock/psychedelic/hillbilly blend that the
band seemed to thrive on. "Electric Barnyard" is the definitive underground
country CD.

LET GO - BROTHER PHELPS
On June 2, 1992, Ricky Lee and Doug Phelps parted ways with the Headhunters due
to undisclosed reasons. They acquired a record deal with Asylum Records in 1993
and produced this debut CD project aptly entitled "Let Go". The title track was
released and climbed into the top ten country music charts. This CD, though
still embodying the signature vocal sound displayed in their former band,
spotlighted the infallible sibling harmonies throughout the tracks as well as a
more personal side to the brothers reflected in their songwriting.

ANYWAY THE WIND BLOWS - BROTHER PHELPS
The second release by the brothers was a move back toward a more country rock
sound on some tracks and yet a couple of tracks were very melodic and thought
provoking, once again proving that they refuse to be placed in any one musical
genre box. Though generally panned by the radio gods this is one of the best CDs
no one ever heard.

FULL ACCESS - RICKY LEE PHELPS
After "Anyway The Wind Blows" release, Ricky Lee felt the need to move in yet
another musical direction. He took a much needed sabbatical from the music
industry while Doug found himself back with the Headhunters and had taken over
the position that Ricky Lee had held originally as the lead vocalist. Ricky
spent much time in soul-searching and was hearing a different call in his life.
The songs that fill his first solo effort are songs that reflect his upbringing
in his Christian home. Yet the signature vocal styling of the brothers
that started with the Headhunters is still present. He and Doug repeated the
same formula they used in the beginning of their musical careers. "Full Access"
is Ricky Lee's labor of love. It is Gospel music with a kick.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES - RICKY LEE PHELPS
This second solo project for Ricky Lee is the next step in his growth as a
singer/songwriter/producer. Not surprisingly he called upon his brother as
always to keep the vocal sound the same. As a writer, Ricky Lee delves yet
deeper into his soul to say what he thinks needs to be said to a chaotic world.
On the other hand he threw in a few lighthearted tunes to round it all out.
